Rare carnivorous plants for sale

Nepenthes species and hybrids

Nepenthes veitchii “striped peristome”, near mature display specimen

A specimen-sized offset of my exceptional female “K”, a proven breeder with a boldly-striped peristome and reddish pitchers when grown bright. This is a magnificent, well-established plant that is beginning to grow quite quickly and should increase in size substantially over the summer. Currently 20” from base to tip. Planted in pure NZ sphagnum in a 6” plastic bulb pan. The plant carries four nice, healthy pitchers as well as one older pitcher. Inflating two additional pitchers as shown in images below. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a large specimen of a select clone of this beautiful tropical pitcher plant species. This plant will make an amazing centerpiece in any tropical conservatory. This clone is widely tolerant of temperature fluctuations, and has managed brief exposures to temperatures as low as 48 and as high as 95 degrees F with no visible damage.

This plant is presently being grown in a warm, humid greenhouse in the San Francisco Bay Area and is irrigated with municipal tap source water.

Nepenthes veitchii “striped peristome” x mira

NOT the Borneo Exotics clone from PTC. These are selected, seed-grown examples of this very striking hybrid that used my beautiful N. veitchii “K” (see above) as the seed parent. This hybrid should “walk” rather than climb around its surroundings. Larger plants that I have chosen for my own collection (example shown below right) show great promise and appear to have the potential to exceed both parents’ pitcher sizes. Most youngsters appear to show at least some evidence wide peristomes and red striping as they grow. An larger example is shown below. Representative sales plants are shown right in 3.5” tall pots. Limited.

USD 75.00 each plus USD 16.00 USPS Priority mailing in the U.S. An additional USD 8.00 mailing for each additional plant up to three plants. CA sales tax applies to state residents. No international sales of nepenthes.
