Columnea sp. Condor (aka "Purple Dragon") - a Very Tasty Dessert

by Jay Vannini

Still be assembled and edited.

Apparently still undescribed after having been in cultivation for almost 15 years, the enigmatic and gorgeous Columnea sp. "Purple Dragon" (aka "sp. K") from the Cordillera del Condor on the Ecuadoran-Peruvian boundary. It appears to be closely-related to C. katzensteinieae. While their flowers also resemble those of C. (Trichantha) minor, their foliage is almost completely glabrous and otherwise quite different.
